CAPITOL CREEK HOUSE

Surrounded by national forest and several miles from the nearest available utilities this 5500sf home operates fully off-grid. Dual propane fired generators provide power, and the house is designed for future connection of photo voltaic solar cells for primary electric, and solar to pre heat domestic water. The remote location, accessibility to the nearest fire district, and the harsh Colorado climate dictated that this project be low maintenance. Influenced by the English Manor Houses of history this contemporary residence and horse barn is constructed with hand fitted dry stacked stone.
